This song is very comforting to me. I hope it is to you too.
My God is Near
Verse 1. Make me know Your presence, Lord, the King of glory here. You know each tho't and action, hope, anxiety and fear. How can I hide from Thee? Can darkness hide iniquity? Oh, how can I unfaithful be, when You are very near (are near) to me?
Verse 2. Make me know Your presence, Lord, when I feel so alone. You know each trial and testing, pain, the hurt that is "unknown." Oh, why can I not see Your hand so firmly guiding me? Oh, how can I untrusting be, when You are very near (are near) to me?
Chorus. When Go is near (is near), all the world seems far away. When God is near (is near), ev'ry fear is set aside. When God is near (is near), how can I stray, how can I faltar? I'll stay upon the altar. I know my God i near!

Redeemed
Redeemed is a song that makes me happy. I mean how much better can it get? I'm redeemed by the blood of the Lamb! Just amazing.
Redeemed
Verse 1. Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it! Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed through His infinite mercy, His child, and forever, I am.
Verse 2. Redeemed, how so happy in Jesus, No language my rapture can tell; I know that the light of His presence With me doth continually dwell.
Verse 3. I know I shall see in His beauty The King in whose law I delight; Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps, And giveth me songs in the night.
Chorus. Redeemed, redeemed, Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it! His child, and forever, I am.

Victory in Jesus
Victory in Jesus is one of those songs that you love to sing in church. You know all the words to it. This is one of my all time favorites so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! It reminds me of how Jesus has victory over everything :)
Victory in Jesus
Verse 1. I heard on old, old story, how a Savior came from glory, How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me: I heard about His groaning, of His precious blood's atoning, Then I repented of my sins and won the victory.
Verse 2. I heard about His healing, of His cleansing pow'r revealing, How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see; And then I cried, "Dear Jesus, come and heal my broken spirit," And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory.
Verse 3. I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory, And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea, And I bout the angels singing, and the old redemption story, And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory.
Chorus. O victory in Jesus, my Savior, forever, He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood; He loved me ere I knew Him, and all my love is due Him, He plunged my to victory beneath the cleansing flood.

Beneath the Cross
Beneath the Cross is one of my favorite songs. To me, this song is humbling. I know I say this a lot but, just focus on these words.
Beneath the Cross
Verse 1. Beneath the cross of Jesus I find a place to stand, and wonder at such mercy that calls me as I am. For hands that should discard me hold wounds which tell me come. Beneath the cross of Jesus my unworthy soul is won.
Verse 2. Beneath he cross of Jesus, His family is my own. Once strangers chasing selfish dreams; Now, one through grace alone. How could I now dishonor the ones that You have loved? Beneath the cross of Jesus see the children called by God.
Verse 3. Beneath the cross of Jesus, the path before the crown, We follow in His footsteps where promised hope is found . How great the joy before us to be His perfect bride. Beneath the cross of Jesus, we will gladly live our lives.

In Christ Alone
In Christ Alone is one of my favorite songs. Most of the time I like a song for how it sounds. In Christ Alone is a beautiful sounding song but, if you read the words, it is even more beautiful. I'm gonna put the words down here for you to read. Please focus on what you are reading.
In Christ Alone
Verse 1: In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my Light, my Strength, my Song; This Cornerstone, this Solid Ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my All in all, here in the love of Christ I stand.
Verse 2: In Christ alone! Who took on flesh; Fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save: Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied; for every sin on Him was laid; Here in the death of Christ I live
Verse 3: There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain; Then bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again! And as He stand in victory, sin's curse has lost it's grip on me; For I am His and He is mine- bought with the precious blood of Christ.
Verse 4: No guilt in life, no fear in death- This is the power of Christ in me; From life's first cry to final breath , Jesus commands my destiny. No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck my from His hand; Till He returns or calls me home, here in the pow'r of Christ I stand.

Be Strong in the Lord
Have you ever heard the song Be Strong in the Lord? If not you should listen to it. The words to this song are very encouraging to me. As you read them, focus on what they're saying. I think this will encourage you with your spiritual life with God.
Be Strong in the Lord
Verse 1: Be strong in the Lord, and be of good courage;
Your mighty Defender is always the same.
Mount up with wings, as the eagle ascending;
Vict'ry is sure when you call on His name.
Chorus: Be strong, be strong, be strong in the Lord;
And be of good courage, for He is your Guide.
Be strong, be strong, be strong in the Lord;
And rejoice for the vict'ry is yours.
Verse 2: So put on the armor the Lord has provided;
And place your defense in His unfailing care.
Trust Him, for He will be with you in battle,
Lighting your past to avoid every snare.
Verse 3: Be strong in the Lord, and be of good courage;
Your mighty Commander will vanquish the foe.
Fear no the battle for the vict'ry is always His;
He will protect you wherever you go.
I hope this song encourages you. Have a great day!

I Will Praise Him
Though the way seems straight and narrow,
All I claimed was swept away;
My ambitions, plans and wishes,
At my feet in ashes lay.
Refrain:I will praise Him! I will praise Him!
Praise the Lamb for sinners slain;
Give Him glory, all ye people,
For His blood can wash away each stain.
All I claimed was swept away;
My ambitions, plans and wishes,
At my feet in ashes lay.
Refrain:I will praise Him! I will praise Him!
Praise the Lamb for sinners slain;
Give Him glory, all ye people,
For His blood can wash away each stain.
I am always convicted as I sing this second verse of "I Will Praise Him." The line "My ambitions, plans, and wishes, at my feet in ashes lay," always gets to me. I just don't respond well when my plans don't go the way I want. I will plan something out exactly how I want it, and then it will fall through. I know that the Lord has a plan for it, but I have a hard time accepting that when I don't understand what that plan is.
But in this song, right after that line, the author is still praising God. This is always convicting to me. Even when those things happen to me, I should still praise God for what He has done. Our small plans pale in comparison to what God has planned. If we just persevere through hard times, it will be amazing when we get to Heaven and see how God used our circumstances for His glory!!

People Need the Lord
Yesterday in church, we sang People Need the Lord. This phrase really stuck me: "What could be too great a cost for sharing Life with one who's lost?". I had been struggling with a possible witnessing opportunity, and I was really kind of scared. We had to do a booklet on irony for English I, and my example of dramatic irony came from Luke 24 where the two men were talking to Jesus after He had risen but they did not realize who He really was. We were supposed to present the projects in class today, but I was trying to wait as long as I could before I could present. So, I'll present mine tomorrow instead. Please pray that the Lord will give me the strength to share Him with others. This phrase really made me wonder why I am so scared to witness. When the song puts it like that, there really is no reason not to. No matter how crazy some people will think we are, we know that they are without something they desperately need. If they do end up accepting Christ, they will thank us for sharing Him with them. I hope this encourages you to share the Gospel with others.

Amazing Grace
Too often we forget about God's grace. Without God's grace we would be on our way to hell. Our God is a God of grace. As you read the words to this well know hymn, think about God's amazing grace.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear

O Great God
- O great God of highest heaven Occupy my lowly heart Own it all and reign supreme Conquer every rebel power Let no vice or sin remain That resists Your holy war You have loved and purchased me Make me Yours forevermore
- I was blinded by my sin Had no ears to hear Your voice Did not know Your love within Had no taste for heaven’s joys Then Your Spirit gave me life Opened up Your Word to me Through the gospel of Your Son Gave me endless hope and peace
- Help me now to live a life That’s dependent on Your grace Keep my heart and guard my soul From the evils that I face You are worthy to be praised With my every thought and deed O great God of highest heaven Glorify Your Name through me

When Trials Come (Part 2)
Well, hopefully all of you guys read my first post about trials... if not you need to:). So I was playing piano yesterday and found a song that I have known for a long time but I had forgotten about it. I think this fits in well under the category of trials(or help when you're going through a trial). So I hope you all enjoy this song. It's called Lord, I Need You by Ron Hamilton.
"Sometimes when life seems gentle and blessings flood my way, I turn my gaze away from You and soon forget to pray. But when the sky grows darker and courage turns to fear, My anxious voice cries upward with words You long to hear."
"Lord, I need You when the sea of life is calm. O Lord, I need You when the wind is blowing strong. Whether trials come or cease, keep me always on my knees. Lord, I need You. Lord, I need You."
"Lord, help me to remember I'm weak but You are strong. I cannot sing apart from You, for Lord, You are my song. Although I'm prone to wander and boast in all I do; Lord, keep my eyes turned upward so I depend on You."
"Lord, I need You when the sea of life is calm. O Lord, I need You when the wind is blowing strong. Whether trials come or cease, keep me always on my knees. Lord, I need You. Lord, I need You."

God's Will
The other night in church we sang "I Am Thine, O Lord" by Fanny Crosby. Like a lot of other songs have, this song convicted me. We got to the third stanza which reads:
Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow'r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
The fourth line really got me. The Lord has been convicting me lately about His will. Not really anything specific that He has for my life yet, but just that I need to be fully trusting in and following Him. I decided to look up verses about God's will and see what they had to say. I found one that I really like: Proverbs 1:33. It says: "But whoever listens to me will dwell safely, and will be secure, without fear of evil." I really like the promise that that verse gives. It tells us that if we listen to God, we won't need to fear evil.
I then started thinking about what keeps us from God's will. I guess that we, as humans, just like to be in control. Most of the time, I LOVE being in control. Whenever I have a group project that I have to do, I want to be the leader. This isn't a bad thing, necessarily, but it is if I want my will over God's. This song and verse just inspired me to be so caught up in God's will for my life that I don't even think about mine. I hope it inspires you too! Later this month I'll talk about what God's will is for our lives...

Trust and Obey
The other night in church as I was singing Trust and Obey by John H. Sammis, the third stanza really impacted me. It says, "But we never can prove the delights of His love until all on the alter we lay; for the favor He shows, for the love He bestows, are for them who will trust and obey."
That just really hit me and reminded me that I must always trust in God for everything. I did a post a little while back on worry. Like I said, I worry a lot! This song was just another one of God's reminders that He wants me to trust in Him fully. I know this post is a little short, but I hope that it is an encouragement to you!!!

A Heart That is On Fire
As I was singing May the Lord Find Us Faithful this evening at church, something convicted me. The third line of the third verse talks about us having a heart that is on fire. I really strive to have a heart that is on fire for God, but sometimes I just feel like my fire is going out or dying away. I think this is probably something we all struggle with. I just get wrapped up in school and just life in general and forget that I'm supposed to be serving God. Then I realize that, as a Christian, God is my life. All those other things that are taking up my time aren't really important. I should be finding a way to serve God in everything that I do. And not only that, but serving Him with my whole heart. That doesn't mean that I can't enjoy those other things, because God did put things here on earth for us to enjoy, they should just come after God. And, I should be serving God while I'm doing them. I hope these thoughts help you!

His Way Is Perfect
I was playing piano this morning and found a song called 'His Way Is Perfect'. As I was playing this song I read the words, they were very encouraging. I hope you find them encouraging too! This song is from the WILDS book and is by Betsy Kistler.
" When my way seems dark and drear and the future I don't know, My heart feels so empty as the tears unending flow. When my heart breaks with sorrow and a tempest fills my soul, This one thing I know for sure: my God is in control.
His way is perfect, His way is perfect. Though I don't understand His wise and loving plan, His way is perfect. His way is perfect. Take my life and make a vessel purified. Go makes no mistakes: His way is best.
When the toils of life are come and my heart is worn with care I faint 'neath the burden of a cross I cannot bear. When the joy has departed from my sorrow- stricken soul, This one thing I know for sure: my God is in control."
Have a great day!
